“Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we have been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.”- Barack Obama
Who do we consider to be great? I know that Leonardo Da Vinci was commissioned to create the Mona Lisa today. Was he considered great then, as much as now? Is our fascination with Greatness left in a tangled mess among the dead and gone. We consider those of today to have potential for change. Yet we put a lot of pressure on the future to perform. If we consider Boserup’s theory of how we will be prepared for the trials and tribulations of tomorrow: she suggests that innovation must continually be considered.
So let’s look at the innovations of today:
And This one too:
The Robo-Bug and The Satellite Box are fascinating innovations that make the world more accessible. It could be argued that they could be used for good and bad, but for the sake of innovation they both are examples of nano-tech. We did not know until recently that this technology would be readily available for consumers.
I believe that Obama’s quote is correct , that we need to work on change now. Self determination plays a huge role in World Politics: Be able to support yourself before you support others. Socially this makes sense but with the ever changing state of affairs it easy to lose oneself.
Although, I will consolidate that this is not necessarily awful.
Good Night World,
